Wesley is proud to host District Four’s Operation Gobble, organized by the Office of the Councilmember Paul Caprioglio. 600 turkeys and food bags were distributed to members of the community. We are happy to be a part of this wonderful community event.
New classes are forming in September. Please talk to Pastor Karen if you wish to join Wesley and/or be baptized. The United Methodist Church believes in one baptism and we recognize the baptisms of all Christian churches. If you have been baptized before you do not need to be baptized again.
Make and save this date: On Sunday, September 9th at 11:45am we will formally welcome back the Sunday school year with a BBQ on the patio. Immediately after our worship service we will gather for Rally Day and you can meet some of our teachers and volunteers. There will be hamburgers, hot dogs, and games.
I just wanted everyone to know that the spaghetti lunch fundraiser was a great success. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets, enjoyed the time of food and fellowship, and helped with logistics. The event raised $1,318 toward the youth mission trip this summer in Oregon.
Mark your calendars! Wesley will be marching as a contingent in Fresno pride again this year. The parade is on Saturday, June 2nd, at 10am. We usually gather around 9am at the staging area on Palm and Olive. Come one. Come all. Help us march with our GLBTQ+ brothers and sisters and help spread the word that Wesley United Methodist Church is a place where ALL MEANS ALL! Please reach out to Pastor Karen at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and details.
Fresno area United Methodist Churches will be co-sponsoring a circuit-wide baseball game on Saturday, June 9th at 7:05pm downtown. The game will be held at Chukchansi Stadium in downtown Fresno and feature the Fresno Grizzlies squaring off against the Oklahoma City Dodgers. $6 of each ticket sold will benefit Imagine No Malaria. Please call the office or reach out to email@example.com to RSVP. The church will be purchasing a block of tickets.
