Wesley is proud to host District Four’s Operation Gobble, organized by the Office of the Councilmember Paul Caprioglio. 600 turkeys and food bags were distributed to members of the community. We are happy to be a part of this wonderful community event.
Help Wesley celebrate the 34th anniversary of being a Reconciling Congregation.
In 1984, under the leadership of Rev. Don Fado, we voted to be a reconciling church, becoming the second United Methodist congregation in the nation to declare itself open and affirming of LGBTQ+ people in all aspects of the life of the church.
Our special speaker is Rev. Diana Bohn, Wesley’s Director of Christian Education from 1986 to 2000. She is currently serving as Minister of Youth & Children at Lynnewood UMC in Pleasanton.
The United Methodist Women of the Central Valley District enjoyed their annual retreat at the Episcopal Conference Center Oakhurst (ECCO) on March 9 – 11, 2018. For the past year, numerous women from throughout the district volunteered to be part of the team to plan, staff, and facilitate this amazing retreat. Over sixty women enjoyed three days of spiritual growth, community-building, excellent food, good fun, and lots and lots of singing all in the fresh, mountain air.
The group of ten women from Wesley UMC was recognized for having the most women in attendance from one church. Feel free to ask them to share about their experiences. Mark your calendar to attend the next retreat in 2019. And don’t let money be an issue – there are always scholarships available!
You’ll be glad you did!
