The Wednesday Book Study as chosen “A Companion for the Hospice Journey: Thoughts on Life’s Tough Decisions” by Larry Patten for their new study to begin May 8. Larry was the pastor at Wesley for almost 9 years, leaving in 2007 in order to pursue his passion for writing and to return to hospice work and ministry. Larry has a way of talking about death and dying that doesn’t scare or depress people, but rather draws people in so they can begin to open up to what is happening — or will happen one day.
“Larry Patten has offered a unique learning experience regarding end of life and hospice care. With a gift of story-telling, he disarms the fears of the reader.”- Nancy Hinds, RN. Founder of Hinds Hospice in 1981 and selected as one of the “Top 30 Visionaries in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.”
The Wednesday Book Study meets at 10 am in the Library. If you have been thinking about coming to this group, now is good time to join. The group is open to everyone who likes to read a good book! This book is available at Amazon and anytime you shop at amazonsmile.com, you will make a small donation to Wesley.
