There are several spiritual formation, studies, and meditation opportunities at Wesley on Sunday and at various times throughout the week. In Winterberg #2 there is a 9:15am meditation group on Sunday. In Winterberg #3 there is a Monday morning bible study at 11am. On Monday evenings there is a 6:30pm bible study at the parsonage (see directory for address/currently reading Luke). Wednesday morning at 10am there is a book study in the Library conference room. The new book is “My Beloved World” by Sonia Sotomayor. Finally, there is a Women’s Bible Study on Thursday mornings and they are reading “Bad Girls of the Bible”.
There will be a Sunday School Rally Day at Wesley on September 9th immediately after Sunday morning worship at 11:45am. Please save the date and make plans to attend. There will be hot dogs, games, and the opportunity to meet some of our teachers on the patio.
We have a new sign on campus this week…thanks to our sign connoisseurs Rick and Ray! I thought this was just too funny and in very good taste. 🙂
I just wanted everyone to know that the spaghetti lunch fundraiser was a great success. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets, enjoyed the time of food and fellowship, and helped with logistics. The event raised $1,318 toward the youth mission trip this summer in Oregon.
The United Methodist Women of the Central Valley District enjoyed their annual retreat at the Episcopal Conference Center Oakhurst (ECCO) on March 9 – 11, 2018. For the past year, numerous women from throughout the district volunteered to be part of the team to plan, staff, and facilitate this amazing retreat. Over sixty women enjoyed three days of spiritual growth, community-building, excellent food, good fun, and lots and lots of singing all in the fresh, mountain air.
The group of ten women from Wesley UMC was recognized for having the most women in attendance from one church. Feel free to ask them to share about their experiences. Mark your calendar to attend the next retreat in 2019. And don’t let money be an issue – there are always scholarships available!
You’ll be glad you did!
